Charging Bateries Generally, batteries have to be charged initially (as in, after first taking it out of the box) about 11 to 12 hours. After that, between four to six hours charge after using. As a rule of thumb, charge until the battery is warm, not hot. Do I have to discharge my battery everytime before I recharge? Yes and no. Discharging the battery is supposed to counter the "memory" effect of NiCads and some NiHm batteries. Thus, some degree of discharging is required. However, the battery should not be totally drained as this will effect the battery's charging/discharging performance in the future. As a rule of thumb, when the rate of fire (ROF) dramatically is reduced, but the gun still shoots, time to stop and have the battery recharged.
